VINTAGE 44 PIECE Mid Century Modern 1960s Stainless Steel CUTLERY CANTEEN - Made by Viners of Sheffield. Here we have for sale a lovely vintage 44 piece Mid Century Modern 1960s stainless steel cutlery canteen. The canteen was made in Sheffield by Viners and dates from the 1960s. This rare heritage set is in Viners "Silver Dawn" pattern and comes in a superb brown wood veneer mid century modern canteen case lined with black felt. The cutlery set is complete and bears little evidence of use.
The cutlery is a complete for 6 place settings and comprises 44 pieces as pictured. The weight of set including the case: approximately 6kg. The cutlery polishes beautifully as pictured.
This Mid Century Modern period cutlery is in excellent condition for its age. The only minor issues with the case's exterior are a missing edging piece to the front, a few superficial scratches, marks and small chips, and a couple of repairs to the veneer as pictured which we believe could be easily improved but this has not been done by us so as to leave to the discretion of the purchaser. The case's interiors are in excellent condition too with attractive black lining. The lid lifts smoothly to 90 degrees and stays upright perfectly.
Overall the case is in great vintage condition and presents well. Please take a look at the photos to evaluate the item for yourself as these form part of the description and basis of sale. Please ignore the light reflections and dark spots in the images - these are just light reflections! The pieces will be removed from their positions in the box and wrapped separately within the parcel for dispatch to avoid movement. Condition: "USED VINTAGE - Excellent".
