The chairs were crafted by Widdicomb furniture in Grand Rapids, MI. They are rare and exceptional examples of George Nakashima's earliest work. Soon after Nakashima came to Pennsylvania, he began building his studio.

At this time, he also produced designs for Widdicomb and and created the Sundra series, which used both solid hardwoods and exotic burl veneers in an effort to produce stunning quality pieces. It accompanied an entire dining room set, which you can inquire about if desired. These chairs show no signs of damage and show signs of age, but not damage. The patina is rich and lovely.
